About wowlab

wowlab is a Sendai based design unit of the WOW company. It established itself as an experimental platform for the delivery of new perspectives and approaches in motion graphic design. wowlab believes that modern motion graphics should be flexible and adaptable to the users lifestyle as opposed to traditional forms of fixed, sequential composition. As communication technologies become an increasing part of our daily lives visual design should develop to meet these new demands.

To achieve these new visual forms we feel it is necessary to handle the digital image as a kind of object within the wider field of interactive design. Building upon this approach it is our consideration to construct digital imagery as interface for connecting person to person or person to machine.

Towards a New Expression

This website serves as an archive for our projects and makes our process of production more public. It can be viewed as an ongoing work in itself and serves as a central hub connecting collaborative projects and inspiring future artworks.

WOW is an interactive multimedia design studio based in Tokyo and Sendai, Japan. WOW also produce original short movies, installation and multimedia works presenting a creative side that cannot be expressed through our usual commercial projects. These works are additional to our client based audio visual direction, commercials, promotion videos and visual identity. WOW pursues new possibilities of visual communication that cannot be achieved through pre-existing media.
